Charging technology
Core competence, fast chargers for battery packs
TCE has been developing switching power supplies and chargers for battery systems for many years. In 1994, the GIM®60 was the first charger for nickel-cadmium batteries to be launched on the market. Since then, many chargers in different performance classes have been developed for various battery technologies. Today, the performance spectrum extends to fast chargers that can charge battery packs with up to 70 A. Integrated microcontrollers in each charger make it possible to react flexibly to customer requirements and adapt the devices to new market demands.
Specialist for on-board chargers
TCE specialises in the development and production of on-board chargers for Li-ion batteries and conventional accumulators. The company launched the first charger for the ‘Charly’ e-scooter back in 1997. TCE offers a wide range of chargers that are used in professional floor-cleaning equipment and industrial trucks, among other things. The chargers have an output of up to 2 kW and are available in various housings, in demanding protection classes and with different heat-dissipation principles. They are characterised by high efficiency, low standby power consumption and extremely high-power density. TCE also offers comprehensive support with the necessary approvals, including for the North American and Japanese markets, and has extensive expertise and the necessary equipment for the development, production and testing of charging systems in various series sizes.

Development and assembly of complex control electronics
TCE is an experienced partner in all phases of the development cycle and specialises in the development of high-quality electronic assemblies at competitive prices. The company also develops and manufactures housings and complete assemblies. One example is the sequence controller with integrated power electronics for a leading supplier of screwdriving technology and automation. This controller enables all parameters to be customised to the screwdriving task and offers extensive operating, programming, control and documentation interfaces as well as a wide range of communication options, including I/O and fieldbus interfaces and a touch display. Assembly and testing are carried out entirely at TCE.
Comprehensive expertise for switched-mode power supplies
In Saxony, TCE develops and manufactures high-quality assemblies and devices for various sectors, including mechanical and plant engineering as well as the electrical and electronics industry. One of its core competences is the development and production of switched-mode power supplies (SMPS). TCE’s full expertise comes into play particularly when SMPS are required for demanding environments or with high power densities. For example, a lightweight, compact and short-circuit-proof switched-mode power supply with 24 V and 600 W is being developed for a globally recognised tool manufacturer. This is used in a water-cooled system for professional use on construction sites and is approved worldwide. TCE is known as a reliable partner for innovative, customised solutions.
